Does Scotsburn make any peanut free products?
Yes, we produce five flavours of ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, caramel and cotton candy) and 1 flavour of frozen yogourt (vanilla) that are designated as peanut free. These products are manufactured using only peanut free ingredients in our Saint John, NB facility where approved training and product testing procedures have been implemented. Other Scotsburn or Frosty Friend branded ice cream and frozen yogourt products are manufactured in a different facility in a manner that requires flavours not containing nut ingredients to be produced at the start of the day after the equipment has been cleaned and sanitized. Those flavours containing nuts are produced near the end of the production runs. This process provides a better opportunity to reduce the chances of cross contamination of flavours that do not contain nut ingredients.
