Does Saxon Math move “slow”?

I use Saxon and love it… but you have to be willing to bend it for a child that doesn’t need as much repetition. The constant review allows them to retain concepts (*very* important in math), but if your child only needs to review a concept once a week instead of every day… don’t have them do all the problems. Just mix it up so they are still reviewing everything. Feel free to skip lessons to avoid boredom as well. Your child *will* see the work again in other problem sets… if you feel she doesn’t need to do a particular lesson don’t do it. Then if you were wrong you will catch that when she struggles with it on assignments. Of course you can also choose another program altogether. I’ve looked at Singapore Math as well and they *do* have books for all the way through high school now. It really isn’t my favorite because it follows a different progression than I’m used to… I don’t change easily… but it is a good solid program that your daughter might like.
