Does Samtec have any recommendations for processing multiple fine pitch SMT connectors on a single board?
Position similar connector with regard to location and orientation as close to each other as possible so that they experience similar processing conditions simultaneously. Also, avoid using alignment features incorporated into the parts such as alignment pins or locking clips as the tolerances between them and the associated board features could enhance a problem. Finally, minimize the number of board-to-board connectors used in a single application when possible and investigate the use of fixturing to hold the multiple connectors in place during reflow.
