Does Salazar have a signature aesthetic? How does a filmmaking collective approach ideas of a “signature aesthetic”?
It has been really interesting and rewarding to watch as our collective aesthetic has evolved and grown. We all love environments whatever they may be. Locations are so important to our ideas and the way in which the projects find themselves. As a crew we all always intent on pushing each other. One idea gets put forth, mulled over by everyone and realized with small adjustments made on the basis of what’s best for the character, colour palette, or whatever. The aesthetic that results is something that takes into consideration many different influences, and where each of our heads is at, at the time. How would you describe your creative processes?
