Does rye bread have wheat in it?
Any recipes that I have ever made of rye bread contain wheat flour, it varies the amount according to what kind of rye bread you are baking. Most rye breads darkness comes from molasses or coffee in the dough. I have found that most recipes are about 3 parts all purpose to 1 part rye flour. Of course there are some recipes that are multi grain, but all them them I have used or seen contain at least 2 parts all purpose flour or bread flour. Even when making wheat bread, if you use all wheat flour, without using any all purpose it become to dense and chewy to eat much past the cooling of the bread.
