Does ryanairs bad publicity effect the number of flights.?
Ryanair is an extremely successful airline, and most of their publicity is very skillfully managed, notwithstanding the public persona that CEO Michael O’Leary seeks to portray. For example the recent spoofing of charging for toilet access – they got many news cycles out of that, first by saying they might, then saying it was a joke, then saying they were truly serious, then saying it was a joke again. Brilliant on their part. And now they’re even holding a reader competition for the most innovative and amusing new surcharges! I tweeted this earlier today – see www.twitter.com/davidrowell. I regularly report on Ryanair issues in my free weekly newsletter which you can get by signing up for it from any of the pages on my site www.thetravelinsider.info So back to your question, the answer is a resounding ‘No’. Ryanair is a classic example of the old adage ‘All publicity is good publicity’.
