Does running stairs build sprinting or long distance muscles?

Running up stairs help to built up your muscles, which is pretty good for long distance and short distance. Stairs pretty much just helps you improve your muscle on your leg. I would prefer running a 50 or 100 meters. Doing that everyday at least once and have someone record down your time. This is really important! Always stretch out before sprinting, Otherwise you will sprain your muscles which will take at least 1~2 week to recover. It would be the same running long distance, I would prefer starting from a 400 meters run and go on. With Best Wishes, James. Happy Training!
