Ans:Rudraksha is classified as a seed of ELAEOCARPACEAE family and has many medicinal properties.Rudraksha beads take one to alpha state of mind – a state where the heart beat, breathing, blood circulation , function of endocrine glands, activity of neurons & neurotransmitters are normalized. Ancient Indian medical texts claim that the Rudraksha prevents aging and can prolong life. Rudraksha is said to Belong to Lord Shiva. Those who wear Rudraksha are free from the mother of all fears that haunts all living beings – The fear of death and extinction. The beads are supposed to be anti – pyretic , anti paralysis and can help balance the vital chakras of the human body which controls bile , wind and phlegm. It is also said to heal those suffering from hypertension and heart ailments.
