Does rubella effect ur pregnancy?
Yes, rubella is extremely dangerous to an unborn child, should you catch it while you are pregnant the baby will too. It’s associated with miscarriage in the first trimester, and birth defects, sometimes serious, after that. Before you get pregnant, it would be a good idea to visit the doctor or clinic and get fully immunized first. You will want to either be on BCP or on your period when they give you the immunization for rubella- so you know you are not pregnant. Then you will want to avoid conception for a month or two afterwards. Tetanus is nice to have for everyday protection, but if you are ever in a bad accident or cut badly, you will get one at the hospital and be protected. Rubella wouldn’t be very healthy for you to catch either, it has some nasty complications like deafness, blindness, heart problems, etc. Do yourself a favor, and just go get your shots. Better late than never.
