Does RPLC have to reference an Approved document?

0

When a document source sends a replacement document (RPLC), does the original document as stored in the registry need to have an “Approved” status? The reason I’m asking is when I query the registry for a document id I want to make sure the user doesn’t select an invalid document i.e. Deprecated. A document in XDS can have the following status Submitted – in the process of being stored in the registry, in limbo, not yet to be trusted. RPLC should not reference such a document Approved – good Deprecated – Has already been replaced. I cannot think of reason why a Deprecated document would be replaced. It has already been replaced. Although, the XDS profile does not specifically forbid it, it makes no sense.
