Does royal mail special delivery come with the normal post?
It depends on the size of the package and how heavy the postman’s sacks are already. If the Special Delivery items fit in the sacks with the normal post, they will be delivered with the normal post, and the postman will knock for a signature. If the items are too big or too heavy to fit in the sacks, they will be given to a driver, who will come separately and knock for the signature. The people who say it comes by special courier are wrong, I’m afraid. EDIT: Also, if you’re using the 9am guaranteed Special Delivery, instead of the 1pm guaranteed, it will come by van, as its extremely unlikely that the normal postman will make it to the address in time.
