Does Rosetta Stone Work Well For German?
As well as any book method; better then most but I’ve found that learning German (any language really) is not done well in a university setting. After five terms of German (much of it in lab work using the Rosetta software) and working my butt off, I still could not carry a conversation in German. The best I did was when I worked in Germany and asked the landlord not to speak in English unless I got REALLY frustrated. Unfortunately, that was Phalzish German 🙂 but I picked it up fairly quickly. It may not be what you want to hear nor possible for you but, if you really want to learn German, it would be best to take classes in a German speaking country and avoid English while you are there. The immersion method is by far the best from my experience. I’m not sure what methodology is used by the US military but they seem to do a much better job at language instruction then universities too but they choose the language based on need and only career fields like certain intelligence areas ge
