Does Road Runner require a phone line? How much does that save me each month in telephone charges?
As a Road Runner customer you will be provided with a high-speed cable modem that links your computer to the fiber-optic/coaxial cable network and server complex rather than via a modem hooked up to a local phone line. These servers provide a gateway for you to connect to the Internet at very high speeds. Phone lines are not used at all. The savings in phone charges may be as much as $15 – $25 per month for a customer that dials up the Internet an average of three times a day using a second phone line.
