A. Yes. If you are using water with large quantities of detritus in it, then the capacity will be reduced. In order to extend the life of the LIFESAVER® UF cartridge, you can perform a front-side wash by swishing water in and out of the bottle, agitating the caking layer which tends to slip off, extending the life of the cartridge.
