Yes, a unique session is created for every user when they log in and data is stored for, and retrieved from, the session using simple service program procedures. This is an invaluable tool for maintaining state across page requests. The transient session data is stored in System i user indexes for speed of retrieval. Maximum number of sessions per user (and time out settings) are all configurable.
