Does religion make people crazy?

Well, I didn’t read through all of the answers, but the ones that were apparently written by Christians didn’t seem to be endorsing belief in this. They all seemed to come from the standard Christian teaching that pursuit of power from any source other than God is going to be unfruitful, and they seemed to, for the most part, then direct the asker to Jesus, saying that he’s a much more reliable leader than demons that may or may not exist. Those answerers that actually lent credence to the “fact” of vampirism/witchcraft (from their perspective, of course), were clearly not Christian. They were probably some form of wiccan or a crazy emo goth that likes to fantasize about Twilight. What you seem to be incredulous about is that more Christians didn’t outright say that this is nonsense. What I’m incredulous about is that you seem to be unfamiliar with a little concept called “tact”. Would you outright laugh in a crazy person’s face? If you would, then you should not pursue a career in psy

Maybe, but I’d guess that it’s also true that most crazy people are religious.

Religion doesn’t make people crazy, it brings out the crazy already in them.

too much religion and not enough spirituality will make a person seam crazy to others that disagree.

Having a relationship with GOD is not religion. Christian is not crazy.
