Does rehab really work for Drug addicts?
Rehab works for very few, they usually go thru many many relapses and have to want to actually stop. If they’re forcefully put there, I think it’s a waste of time because they aren’t ready to stop. I do think tough love works the best. It worked on me. My mom was sick of my crap and had enough, she didn’t want to watch me kill myself so she cut ties and didn’t help me at all. I was left to fend for myself. I partied for a few more years, but supported myself, worked 3 jobs at one point and I got worse before I got better. Mom finally let me move in with her when i was 21, I was re-enrolled in school and I told her I will quit all other drugs, but I will not stop smoking pot… she was cool with that.. Few months later, I met a guy, moved to Florida and have been off drugs since, that was 5 years ago… I know my mother is very proud of me and so happy I actually had a brain… parents hope their kids will finally come to their senses and makes something of themselves… it doesn’t happ
