RDU has four AED units currently installed in Terminal 1. One is located at each information desk and two additional ones are located post-security near the checkpoint exits. AEDs are housed in cabinets, that when opened, trigger an automatic dispatch of emergency first responders as well as cause the activation of a strobe and alarm on the cabinet. AEDs will soon be installed in Terminal 2.
