Does RAM affect the type of graphics card?

No, SYSTEM memory DOES NOT affect Video/graphics card RAM. They are completely separate. You can have DDR1/DDR2/DDR3 computer RAM and you can buy a graphics card with DDR1-DDR5 RAM. I don’t know what currency you use at your location, but generally a ATi Radeon HD 4650 DDR2 or 4670 GDDR3 are “best performance for the price.” They do not cost too much and they can play most present games on medium/high settings on lower resolutions (1440 x 900, 1280 x 800, or even 1280 x 1024). You can go and purchase faster cards like the 4850, 4870, 9800GT, but they will cost you a lot more. 4650 – low as $53.99 Canadian $ (before tax, shipping, etc.) http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.asp… 4670 – Low as $69.49 CDN http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.asp…<
