Does QUT provide any counselling service if I have witnessed a sudden cardiac arrest episode or lost someone close, and experienced shock afterwards?
While there have been many success stories out there, there is no guarantee that a victim will be saved and tragedy does strike sometimes despite everyone’s best effort. It could be devastating and emotionally disturbing, especially to those who have tried their best to help, let alone those immediate family members and close friends. Some people have traumatising experience after an SCA incident and it is critical that QUT provides counselling support to help them get through. QUT Counselling Services offers counselling service to all QUT staff and students. QUT staff could also refer to Employee Assistance Scheme for help.
