Does Quick Wick provide sun protection?
Yes! SPF (sun protection factor) is the standard used to refer to the effectiveness of sun-screen. UPF (ultra-violet protection factor) is used specifically for sun protective fabrics.Different fabrics have different UVR-absorbing properties. CoolBest ® has an excellent rating of UPF 40. This means that Quick Wick allows 1/40th of the UV radiation falling on the surface of the garment to pass through it. In other words, Quick Wick blocks 39/40ths or 97% of the UV radiation. On average, cotton is rated at UPF 7.Quick Wick is intended to add to your smart sun practices. It is not a replacement for sunscreen or shade.
