Does Quahog have a history of hate against New York?
More like a rivalry. Most of new England objects to New Yorkers coming from the city to watch the leaves change (leafers) although that goes for almost everyone from the major cities. (Producer Danny Smith once remarked there was more problems with people from Boston in his area.) In addition, most of the locals follow the major sports teams in their area, in this case the Boston Red Sox. (And the Boston minor league AAA team is the Pawtucket Red Sox…and Quahog is supposedly a suburb of Pawtucket. Peter took Francis to a Pawtucket Red Sox game in ‘Holy Crap’.) There is a long history of rivalry between the Yankees and the Red Sox. Its usually viewed as working-class New Englanders vs. Wall Street’ New Yorkers.
