Does Proxify support streaming media/video/audio services?
Short answer: Streaming media (video and audio) is not compatible with Proxify. However, you can download files through the Proxify service to your PC for offline playback. Long answer: Proxify has developed special technology that allows the service to work with many flash video players. However, the question of compatibility depends how the media is streamed and the file size of the media. Generally, Proxify supports Youtube and other services which stream FLV files over an HTTP connection. Proxify does not support Hulu.com, BBC’s iPlayer, or other services which utilize the RTMP protocol. While Netflix’s “Watch Now” service appears to function by streaming FLV files over an HTTP connection, these files almost always exceed the maximum file size (currently 50MB) that can be accessed via the Proxify service and are therefore inaccessible. Amazon’s “Unbox” service also produces files that exceed the maximum file size and are likewise inaccessible.
