Does Protein-powder mixed in shakes make fat?
Agree with chadp10, consider the protein as being half-way to fat and in essence no different than a large steak (since a protein mix contains more protein pound-for-pound than a steak), both of which your body would store the excess protein as fat. So the trick is timing – it’s best to take the protein shake right after a workout, within 30 minutes some say, to feed what your body needs. Even better than a protein shake, for this purpose, is chicken, and I don’t mean nuggets or fried. It too contains protein in addition to other nutrients (notwithstanding hormone additives, unfortunately).
