Does Privilege Manager require and/or use a Secondary Account?
No, Privilege Manager neither requires nor needs a Secondary Account to work. In fact, eliminating the need for the vast majority of Secondary Accounts which could have been needed for staff was one of the primary reasons NCI purchased Privilege Manager. With Privilege Manager, users will continue to use the same user accounts they have always used, and, for the most part, will continue to use their PCs as they always have. That being said, NCI understands that there will still be times when Privilege Manager is neither an effective nor practical solution and will create Secondary Accounts for staff only in those instances. Due to their nature and the mandated restrictions which must be placed upon them, creating, managing, maintaining, and using Secondary Accounts will involve a degree of labor “overhead” both for the owners of those accounts, and for NCI Support Staff, in a way that the Institute would prefer to minimize.
