Does Prevnar Have Side Effects?
After the shot is given, children may have minor, short-term side effects similar to those from other childhood vaccines. The most common reactions during the first 48 hours include: redness, soreness and swelling at the injection site; fever; irritability; tired; restless sleep and a lack of appetite. The reactions at the site of the shot are usually short-term and go away on their own. You may give Acetaminophen (Tylenol) if there is pain or fever. If your child has other problems, call your doctor.
