Yes. I think there’s a slight bias against intelligent children. The priority for education is given to the average level students but because the pace is slow or the work too simple for more advanced children, they end up caring less about their schoolwork and are less motivated. Their need for intellectual stimulation and challenge in schoolwork are basically neglected. This happens a lot and the result is many intelligent children lose interest in school early on and are therefore less motivated to work to the best of their ability. This isn’t the case for all intelligent children but many go through this. It’s especially aggravating when teachers sometimes pick on the kids who get the better marks in class because “no one likes a smart-aleck”. It’s sometimes a case of the majority overrules the minority.
