Does Plug & Play work on systems without a Plug & Play BIOS?

Yes it does, amazingly. Win95 will assume the role of PnP manager if your system does not have a PnP BIOS. This is actually advantageous, because BIOS authors haven’t gotten the idea down pat yet. Early Award BIOSes, for example, don’t work with SB16 PnP boards, or boards with Crystal’s CS4232 sound chipset, because these devices have multiple resource needs that these BIOSes can’t handle. Other bugs include locating PnP network boards on top of Joystick ports.
