Does Playing Video Games on a LG 32LX1D LCD TV Harm the TV?

David H is correct. I don’t worry about this issue, as video games are unlikely to harm an LCD TV or monitor unless you leave the same high contrast image on for a very long time (you probably want to turn it off when you go on vacation). While LCDs don’t suffer from “burn in” in the sense of phosphor degradation like on CRTs and plasma displays, they have their own burn in mechanism. The most common names for it are “image retention” or “image sticking”. It was a much bigger problem with early LCDs, when materials and designs were less mature, but can still happen to a marginal unit or under extreme conditions. If it does happen, it can sometimes fade or be reversed but not always.
