Does Plan provide emergency relief?
Yes. Plan is uniquely positioned to respond quickly and appropriately when disaster strikes in one of the countries in which we’re working. Many of our staff were either born in or have deep roots in the areas they serve, and we have a long-term presence there. This gives us the relationships and infrastructure to ensure that money donated in response to emergency appeals gets to the people it’s intended to relieve. In many instances, your contribution to emergency relief through Plan attracts matching funds from government. We provide urgently needed food, water, medical treatment and shelter for people suffering in the wake of a natural disaster or conflict. When the cameras are gone and the world turns its attention elsewhere, we continue to support the longer-term efforts of the people affected to rebuild their lives and help their children deal with the trauma.
