There are no LACERA pre-retirement continuing survivor benefits under Plan E; however, Plan E members are covered by the County’s Long-Term Disability and Survivor Benefits Plan. All LACERA retirement plans, including Plan E, provide a $5,000 post-retirement lump-sum death benefit. LACERA also provides post-retirement continuing Plan E survivor benefits, which vary according to the retirement option selected.
