No. PIA focuses primarily on professional development and continuing education courses. Exceptions: Even though they were not created for licensing purposes, someone can use the CIC designation or the CISR designation to earn the 4-40 license. This waiver of the state licensing course and exam is based on the fact that someone earning either of these designations has demonstrated knowledge beyond that required to pass the state exam. No one has used CIC for licensing purposes, probably because it goes way beyond what is required to earn the 4-40 license. However, a number of people have used the CISR program for this purpose.
