Peroxide bleaches the hair. Peroxide actually strips the color out of the hair by infusing itself in to pores of hair and killing the color pigments. Also it is not a good idea to lighten hair with perioxide because it you have no control over the lift. It may stop processing at a really ugly orange color and you would be stuck with hair that color until you could get it fixed.
