Does perchlorate in water affect mother with their infant babies?

If I remember correctly, perchlorate is supposed to interfere with the thyroid gland or iodine absorption in some way, but don’t cast that in bronze; I’ll try to find you a site before I get off. I was always taught that perchlorate didn’t survive in groundwater…which just goes to show that much of what you supposedly know is wrong…don’t you wonder which part? There are many places around the us…Bell County, Texas is just one of them…which have a problem with perchlorate in their groundwater, and the reason why is that Hercules used to produce solid-fuel rocket boosters (in the Bell Co. case, at McGregor, Texas). These plants have been closed for years now, but the problem still persists; occasionally you’ll see newspaper articles about “rocket fuel in milk”. Try these sites; you’ll find others. Good luck!
