Does Pepperdine Recycle?
Pepperdine’s trash vendor, Crown Disposal, recycles materials from the refuse produced on campus. Traditional recycling relies on the use of specific bins and ensuring refuse items do not contaminate the wrong bins. Crown Disposal requires only one bin, which eliminates the risk of recycle bins being contaminated with non-recyclables. Every single recyclable item disposed of at Pepperdine is recycled with an average diversion rate of 78% of the overall campus waste stream. This means that an average of 78% of all waste produced at Pepperdine is recycled. During construction activities items are recycled out of the construction waste with a resulting diversion rate of approximately 80%.
