Does PC4200 SODIMM work on PC2700 slot?
It is possible that a PC4200 stick would run at its rated speed in your laptop, but only if your motherboard and BIOS support it. At the very least, however, you could buy the cheaper PC4200 stick and run it at PC2700 speeds. Since it’s cheaper, might as well go for it. Also, if you’re just adding a stick, unmatched RAM sticks will always run at the speed of the slowest one.
