Does Oxford Health Plans insurance cover eating disorder programs?
You should call Oxford yourself and ask about your specific plans (all plans have different benefits). This would fall under the behavioral health or outpatient mental health. With recent legislation, these are being covered with less limits and less cost share. I worked as a customer service rep. there until recently, and have seen eating disorders covered. Generally, any of these treatments (behavioral health) need to be precertified so be sure to ask your Oxford rep. when you call.
