Does out of state qualify for unemployment?
Like it or not, you are a resident of Arkansas now. You left Florida to accept a transfer with your employer. While your heart may still be in Florida, YOU are in Arkansas. (I really do get it. My heart will always be in Boston, but I live in a small Missouri town now.) Unless you are laid off from your current position or have a VERY good reason for quitting you will not be eligible for unemployment benefits. Reasons for quitting generally are limited to an extremely hostile work environment that you have tried to resolve but have not been able to, or quitting to accompany a spouse who has taken a job outside of the local commuting area, or possibly moving to care for a relative who is unable to care for themselves and nobody closer is able to assist. You lost out on the distance option when you accepted the position in AR and moved there.
