To support an VPN, you will need to request a Public IP address. You should note that TCP acceleration and Internet Page Acceleration (IPA) software is used in the satellite equipment to improve the speed with which web pages are retrieved and displayed. If you encrypt each IP packet, for example using IPSec, TCP acceleration and IPA is unable to operate, slowing the upload and download speeds. However some Internet Security systems encrypt only the IP packet payload leaving the header un-encrypted. These systems allow TCP acceleration and IPA to operate effectively.
