You can install OpenSolaris next to Linux, but: • Do it only when primary partitions are used by Linux and OpenSolaris (no extended partitions are defined). • You need to update your GRUB boot loader configuration to provide a boot option for Linux (see a FAQ entry below which explains how to do it).
