Does Open Classroom Accept Families From Outside The Conejo Valley Unified School District (C.V.U.S.D.) And, If So, What Is The Process For Applying to The Program?
To apply to The Open Classroom Program, families that reside outside the C.V.U.S.D. attendance area must complete an Interdistrict Attendance Permit, which can be obtained from their resident school district office. It is on this form, under ‘School Requested’, that they should indicate their desire to have their child attend ‘The Open Classroom Program at Conejo Elementary School’. Once the form has been approved and signed by a student’s resident school district, the family needs to take the form to the C.V.U.S.D., Pupil Services Department (located at 1400 East Janss Road in Thousand Oaks, in the rear building), for acceptance into our school district. Applying students will be placed on a waiting list. If space in the Open Classroom Program remains, or becomes, available for out-of-district applicants once the C.V.U.S.D. has completed its School Choice process for in-district students, waitlisted interdistrict students will then be formally accepted and approved.
