Does OPDV971H work with TVs and projectors with HDMI input? Will I have any video quality loss going from DVI to HDMI? How do I handle the audio part?
Yes. You can connect OPDV971H with your HDMI display device using the DVI to HDMI cable provided by OPPO. There will be no quality loss associated with the conversion from DVI to HDMI, since HDMI is compatible with DVI. Audio can be handled one of two ways: analog and digital out. Analog out requires the use of White and Red cables to be plugged into the back of the 971H’s Mix Output and mated with the TVs stereo input for HDMI. Please note that some HDMI television units will use a mini-jack (1/4″ plug) for HDMI audio. Digital out requires a receiver unit. Digital output can be done either through the Digital or the Coaxial ports of the 971H and the corresponding receiver inputs.
