Does only 13% of funding goes to building new roads in Fresno County?
No.The Regional Transportation Program, at 30.4%, or $520.8 million, is primarily dedicated to building new or expanded streets/roads/highways throughout Fresno County and its cities—at a cost of $503.8 million in Measure C funds. The exception is the 1% dedicated to the Fresno Airports. An excel spreadsheet is included within this e-mail, and shows the Regional Transportation Program projects.”New” is a facility that did not exist previously, and those projects represent 34% of the total projects dedicated to our regional system.”Expansion” is added capacity (example: new lanes on an existing facility).”Expansion” projects represent 66% of the projects dedicated to our regional system. We believe most people would consider both types of projects to be “new”.
