Does Obama really have citizenship status in Kenya?
Maybe, but probably not. First, another answer says–citing factcheck.org–that Obama is not a Kenyan citizen because the Kenyan Constitution does not permit dual citizenship. This is accurate (see http://www.kenyaspace.com/Kenya%20Constitution12.htm). However, this ignores the actual arguments of Obama opponents. Obama opponents argue that Barack was actually born in Kenya, and then moved to Hawaii after his birth. Under current law, Obama would still be a citizen with these facts. However, under the law at the time, Obama would not be a citizen (see http://supreme.justia.com/us/366/308/). Obama has posted his birth certificate on his website, but there is still controversy as to whether or not it is authentic. Specifically, many people argue that his certificate lacks the embossed authentication of a Hawaii birth certificate. If you asked me to make a wager on this issue, I would wager that Obama was born in Hawaii. But sites like FactCheck.org should focus more on relevant facts. An
