Does not the study of history at school promote racism?

No, it do not.History teaches us much more than that. It is the way, in which it is taught that promote racism. To me, history taught me that how ignorants who were in charge of governments divided “HUMANS” on the basis of color, religion, areas, language etc; just to achieve their goals. History teaches us that how ignorant were we, and how ignorant our society had been. People who don’t learn lesson from their history, repeats it. Therefore, history learning is must. It is the teacher that promotes the racism not the history. HOPE IT HELPS.
