Does NewsFlow have the ability to automatically record material by means of a timed record command in order to minimize human intervention of routine recording tasks?
The Apella Media Server record interface can be automatically and simultaneously controlled via VDCP protocol, GPI trigger, Apella TCP/IP API, and the standard VT Director or VT Scheduler application. In order to minimize human intervention during a routine recording process, the standard automation application known as VT Scheduler provides users the ability to create ingest scripts offline based on specific date and time. Ingest scripts can be saved and later placed online to automatically ingest from any Apella channel. The user also has the ability to have VT Scheduler scripts append other scripts to the rundown. This workflow allows the user to create back-to-back scripts that would automate the entire ingest process. VT Scheduler is a very robust client application that automates Record, Playout, and simple router control along with 4 GPI and 1 GPO triggers per RS-232 serial port available.
