Does Newburg offer special programs for gifted/high ability students?
A challenging core curriculum is the foundation of the services available for gifted students at the elementary level. Classroom teachers modify the core curriculum for gifted and other high ability students and teach advanced content at a faster pace and in greater depth. Flexible grouping practices and cross grade level groups are utilized to maintain appropriate academic challenge in the classroom. Testing for the gifted enrichment program at the kindergarten level is not done until spring. Additional information is available through your child’s teacher or the Gifted Resource Teacher.
