Education in financial literacy is a component of the New York State (NYS) Learning Standards, and is supported by performance indicators (PIs) and core curriculum guidance materials across multiple learning standard areas. These PIs and guidance materials can be appropriately integrated across multiple subjects to further strengthen local school district instructional programs, are aligned to similar standards at the national level, and were developed with the expertise of specialists in financial literacy education.
