Does Nedap offer intrinsically safe RFID equipment?
Nedap has developed a reader, called GIII-C EX, especially suited for identification in hazardous environments that typically exist in the chemical and petrochemical industry where security and reliability are essential requirements. Invulnerability to environmental disturbances is warranted due to the reader’s ATEX approved design. Q: Can the RFID equipment also be applied in harsh environmental conditions. A: RFID technology offers contract-less identification. The system is therefore very suitable for identification in environments where barcode cannot offer reliable identification as a consequence of moist, dirt etc. The Nedap RFID antennas are IP65 protected and designed to withstand moisture, dirt and rough handling in order to operate, for a long period of time, in industrial environments. They are also characterized by high chemical resistance. The antennas are applied in many different industries facing harsh environmental conditions such for example slaughterhouses.
