Does NBCOT certification renewal affect my ability to be reimbursed by Medicare and other third party payers?

No, your certification renewal status has no bearing on your ability to be reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid or other third party payers. Nor do accreditation standards of the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) or the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) independently require OT practitioners employed by facilities to renew their certification with NBCOT.
